'Aran' Mid-Century Modern style Dry Bar in Brazilian Hardwood by Knót Artesanal
About the Item
Made in partnership with one of Brazil’s first independent Gin distilleries, ARAN was conceived with the intention of bringing the
interaction, energy and the cocktail and mixology experience into the home
and other shared spaces.
It was proposed as a mobile bar to use at social events
which could also be purchased by clients for their own personal use.
The choice of materials and layout were designed to optimise for practicality
and user friendliness while maintaining a sleek and minimalist design with
transportable dimensions. Though compact, ARAN can accommodate
numerous bottles and glasses while also having a compartment for an ice
bucket and utensils alongside a preparation area.
It’s overall aesthetic and mid-century modern style make it a striking piece that is imposing yet delicate and sets it apart from traditional drinks cabinets or home bars.
Handmade in Brazilian hardwood Cumaru with brass details.
Knót Artesanal is a minimalist furniture studio composed of Brazilian architect Renata Gutierrez and Scottish woodworker James Rowland. Specialising in handmade pieces created using traditional techniques and a modern design from their base in Paraty on the tropical 'Green Coast' of Brazil.

Knot Artesanal
Knót (ki-no-ti) is the meeting of design, beauty and simplicity hand crafted in solid hard-woods. It was formed between Brazilian architect Renata Gutierrez (nó) and British woodworker James Rowland (knot), both passionate about the forms, tones and textures of wood. Our focus is on simple lines, quality materials and natural finishes. All of our pieces are handmade using traditional woodworking methods to create timeless contemporary pieces that not only need to be seen but also felt. This takes place in Paraty Brazil, the city in which we chose to live and work, nestled between the rainforest and the ocean.
