Early 20th Century Artisan Made Oak Calvados Barrel Dry Bar on Stand

About

This early 20th century artisan-made oak barrel was originally used for calvados, a regional specialty apple brandy in Normandy, France. Resting on a wooden stand, this barrel features a hand carved shield and banner surrounded by grape leaves and is engraved with the family name Boulard and its city of origin in Normandy, Yvetot. Constructed using iron straps and fitted with a brass tap, this cask has been converted into a liquor cabinet. A hinged door on the left side opens to reveal an interior with a platformed bottom. The perfect addition to a wine cellar or bar area, circa 1900-1920. Measures: 28 in. high.
