Antique Liegoise Country French buffet ~ linen press is a remarkable example of the incredibly high quality of furnishings produced in the storied region around Liege. A manufacturing and marketing center for hundreds of years, it lies in the French speaking southeastern portion of what is today called Belgium. The traditions of the finest hand-craftsmanship predate the last several geopolitical designations, with techniques that produced sturdy pieces from the local old-growth oak. This example combines styling influence from the Louis XIII, Louis XIV and Louis XV styles, spanning over two centuries of artistic expression in wood.
