About
Fantastic example of secretaire conical, Biedermeier period first period, circa 1830, secretaire that hides many secrets, opening the top drawer of the tympanum shutter with hidden button. The scarabattolo is in mahogany, with architectural elements and secrets lateral to the door.
Signature on the back of one of the secret drawers, presumably the author of the piece of furniture.
Drawers with recessed locks in the wood. Mobile of rare beauty, proportions and wood quality. Example of the essential lines (peculiar characteristic of the Biedermeier) and simple of the furniture of this style and period; in fact we note the abandonment of the opulence of the Empire and its kindred.
The fully open calliper measures 45 cm, then 50 cm of the body plus 45 of secretaire: 95 cm maximum depth with secretaire door open.
In good condition, it has some imperfections and small, poorly executed restorations.
