19th Century French Provincial Walnut Secretary Desk or Secretaire a Abattant

This rare French Provincial secretaire a abattant or secretary desk features a long top drawer above a fall front opening up to an interior fitted with drawers and compartments and creating a leather lined writing surface. The bottom part has two doors opening up to a shelved interior and rests on short carved cabriole legs. The wood has a wonderful warm glow and a floral inlay as well as bronze escutcheons in the Rococo style adorn the front.
