This antique mahogany cylinder top bureau is a spectacular piece of furniture and is in excellent condition. I believe it’s French and dates from around the 1840s period. Please enlarge all the images to see all the many fine details and see how the flame mahogany patterns run all the way down the front, plus inside the bureau too. This bureau has been fully restored and French polished to a very high standard. Check out the writing compartment, which has two banks of three small drawers, a middle cupboard and a pull out sliding tooled leather writing surface. The outside drawers have brass escutcheons, locks, fine dovetails and a working key. This bureau is of very high quality and not only is it a great looker, but it’s also a very practicable piece of furniture.
