About the Item
A good quality antique French inlaid marquetry Rosewood secretaire abattant, circa 1880.
Made from the finest rosewood and of serpentine or bombe shape, with a Carrara marble top, the locking fall-front top (with key) delicately inlaid with floral marquetry. The interior with fitted storage and two inlaid drawers, the fall front having a red baize writing surface. Below are four locking drawers each with corresponding floral inlay, the base having a similarly inlaid skirt and the cabinet is raised on bracket feet.
The secretaire is of a very usuable diminuitive size and condition is all original and excellent.

The bookcase secretary in two secrions, the upper bookcase having a stepped crown with twin arched mirrored doors below, the mirror to the right side having a reversed engraved flower and the doors enclosing three adjustable shelves.
