About the Item

Classic antique Early 19th Century French Empire drop front secretary desk made with magnificent high quality flame mahogany adorned with bronze doré mounts and its original gray marble top. This wonderful secretary was made during the period of Emperor Napoleon I and has recently been completely restored followed by traditional French polish. The French Empire style secretary has a single hidden drawer on the top and three lower drawers. The interior has several document and accessory storage drawers plus two secret compartments. Quality dovetailed construction throughout. The "abattant" drop front desk boasts a very attractive leather writing surface and is lockable, original lock and key included.
