Swedish Painted Oak Secretary Bureau circa 1800's

About the Item

This oak secretary reflects the refined grace, functionality and style of early 1800's Sweden. Note the unique newer, professionally applied steel blue painted finish with blue interior, updating the look and accented with brass hardware. The finish is slightly distressed, fitting the age and adding to the character of this desk. Enlarge photos to appreciate the layers of colors that combine to create this look. The traditional interior has 8 small drawers (including 2 that are curved) offering space to organize and a central "cubby" with 8 additional petite drawers. This bureau has been restored, all drawers function, desktop is solid and ready to be used and enjoyed. Locks do not function. All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are commensurate with age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this lovely piece.
