Vintage Rosewood Secretary Style of Koloman Moser Portois & Fix, 20th Century

About the Item

The extraordinary vintage secretary/cabinet in the style of Koloman Moser, Carl Otto Czeschka and Portois & Fix is a top quality furniture piece, which was designed and made in the 20th century in Vienna. The secretary was made of spruce and shows veneers with many various woods like rosewood, oak, lemon, beech, marple, ebony and mother of pearl. Further details are brass and 16 blue-green iridescent medallions framed with silver. The hinges were made of brass. Also the secretary shows inside 4 drawers and storage compartments on each side. Now we come to the details of the fantastic surface: You are able to open the secretary with a key and then you open two doors, which show an inlay with the popular motif "Diana" and 16 blue-green colored iridescent medallions with a silver frame. The similar motif "Diana" by Carl Otto Czeschka is exhibited in the Museum of Applied Art in Vienna. Furthermore very similar furniture pieces are indicated in the literature Portois & Fix.
