Bamboo and Lacquered Shelf, England, circa 1880

This corner unit, crafted from mahogany and gilt bronze, functions as a cabinet and a tiered shelf. The cabinet, quarter-circle shaped in profile, is supported by paw feet and features, to the front, twin curvilinear doors. The doors, which open to a single shelf, feature gilt bronze trellises backed by drapery. Above the cabinet unit are two shelves, the shelves supported by three gilt bronze columns, the columns terminating in gilt bronze pinecone...

Bamboo and lacquer corner shelf, the shelves have lacquer Asian decoration and are framed with 3/8” split bamboo.
