Like a hit of colour and transparency across your wall, the blash set of cast glass wall shelves is more sculptural element than an exercise in storage. With its name derived from the urban slang for the splash of a puddle, its flowing curved form appears to have been stuck in mid flight. The British designers behind Silo Studio have brought their experimental approach to industrial manufacturing into pieces that are rich in texture and colour – while deceptively simple in form and function. Their cast glass structure leaves a textured and rippled appearance, further accentuating a sense of movement; a simple crease through the centre is all that is required to distinguish shelf from wall bracket.
