18th Century Swedish Gustavian Neoclassic Light Grey Sideboard

About the Item

Light grey gustavian neoclassic sideboard from the late 1700s, 1790 to 1800, from Northern Sweden. The sideboard is in the classic model with typical decor and straight shape. The Swedish gustavian period is contemporary to the neoclassic period. Ribbed doors and high sculpted tapered legs. The interior and inside of the drawers are wood bare and always have been. The exterior is completely untouched with the original light grey paint which was typical for the Swedish gustavian period. Patina, distress and some marks after 230 years of use. Original woking lock. The sideboard is the work of a skilled carpenter as it’s unusually well-made. Note the profiles on the back and also on the sides of the drawers. Height to table top is 120 and the rim around the back is another 6 cm.
