Exceptional English Mahogany Sideboard
About the Item
Exceptional quality 19th century English Georgian sideboard of flame mahogany. The one board top is beautifully shaped with an intricate reeded edge detail and a decorative backsplash. In the sideboard's frieze is a wide center drawer flanked by a pair of green felt-lined and fitted drawers, all with working locks and keys. The case holds two demilune shaped cabinet doors that open to shelving and a large interior cupboard featuring a wide tambour sliding door. Elegantly raised on eight turned and tapering legs, this sideboard is stamped by the maker on the back, Pope & Sons, Hammersmith, and signed H.W. Discon.
The sideboard measures 41.75" tall (to top of backsplash) 37.25" tall (to top of tabletop) x 23.75" deep x 71.5" wide.
