Satinwood and Mahogany Pedestal Sideboard Suite

About
This magnificent monumental sideboard is a stunning masterpiece of artistry and craftsmanship. Constructed of high quality satinwood boldly crossbanded with rich mahogany, this stunning sideboard embodies the neoclassical Adams Style. Lockable cupboards flank the imposing sideboard, one containing a lead lined wine bottle storage rack, while the other houses a range of shelves. Two cutlery drawers enhance the body of the sideboard for additional storage.
The monumental sideboard rests atop tapered square section feet, and comes accompanied by a matching footed stool on wheels, allowing for maximum mobility. The sideboard is embellished with two stately decorative wood urns, a common element in Adams Brothers design. Extensive delicate inlay work in the neoclassical style of Michaelangelo Pergolesi further decorate the body of the sideboard, resulting in a cohesive and imposing tour-de-force of neoclassical design.
The graceful lines and strong silhouette of this sideboard epitomize the neoclassical style of the Adams Brothers, whose innovative designs revolutionized furniture design in 18th century England. Brothers Robert, John, and James Adams were primarily responsible for designing furniture styles that abandoned the over embellishment of the Rococo period, effectively establishing a new simplicity and severity of form based on classical Greco-Roman influences. Both advanced in concept and back-ward looking in terms of shape and embellishment, the designs of the Adams Brothers would be carried out by a number of great cabinet-makers of their time, including Thomas Chippendale.
Renewed interest in the neoclassical style established by the Adams Brothers was revived in the late Victorian and Edwardian eras, and a number of elegant furniture pieces with simple lines and graceful curves were created during that time. This stunning sideboard arose from that period of Regency Revivalism, and boasts a classical style that remains incredibly popular today.
