Hollywood Regency Brass Inlaid Sideboard
About the Item
This sculptural and dramatic sideboard made in this country in the Hollywood Regency style most associated with the industry and stars of the big screen in the 1930s and 1940s. Of a regency form, the sideboard consists of a large slab center section with two large drawers and one small drawer all with fitted locks and keys ending in Egyptian waisting pylon column ends. The piece is fully fitted out in the inside with silver drawers and cabinet slides giving full access to the interior. Made from mahogany that has been deeply lacquered and French polished the piece is further enhanced with large amounts of polished brass inlay as well as large stylish brass pulls and backplates. Lastly, the whole is raised up on carved and gilded lion paw feet.
