French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Ormolu and Glass Display Vitrine

About the Item

A striking and most unique French 19th century Louis XIV st. ormolu and glass display vitrine. The vitrine is raised by fine scrolled beaded feet joined by an X stretcher. The base displays a most decorative and superbly curved design with scrolled foliate movements centering a lovely reeded bowl. The display vitrine above has beveled glass panes accented by richly chased scrolled foliate ormolu mounts at each corner. The door displays its original small key and opens to two glass shelves. All original gilt throughout. Wonderful proportions and design.
