Country French Provincial Louis XV Walnut Bonnet Top Armoire Wardrobe Cabinet
About the Item
Large and stately 93" tall antique, 18th century, country French / Louis XV style armoire handcrafted in France of cherry and walnut wood. Item features a bonnet shaped cornice, hand-forged iron hinges, peg joined construction, two large swing doors with chevron pattern, deep relief carvings to sides and face of cabinet, and wonderful warm aged patina. Interior features two wooden shelves (later addition) with the backing having been cut-out by original owners. Backing would look very nice with draped fabric to cover the cut-out. This remarkable antique cabinet works well in many settings including rustic primitive, French, traditional, and shabby chic. Bonnet top is removable for transport.
