Antique French Armoire Incredible Patina Just Completed Sympathetic Restoration
About the Item
Antique French Louis XV Armoire in Beautiful Original Condition. Our Old Plank Restoration department concluded that since this Antique Armoire arrived in such a nice unrestored state that the most prudent way forward would be a sympathetic restoration, although some might refer to the process as conservation. More simply put, methodically going through the entire armoire for any structural defects while trying not to disturb the incredible original patina. So, what you have is a lovely 200-year-old Antique French Armoire that just looks right and not as though it just emerged from a restoration shop. Other than a few coats of natural beeswax we did not refinish the armoire, but rather only enhance the old patina. The lock and key appear to be original and look to be late 18th century.
