English George IIII Buffet in Mahogany, England, c. 1820

About the Item

A Tambour-fronted Buffet in Mahogany, featuring a serpentine form on the front and sides, raised atop cabriole feet with shaped apron. Dating from the first quarter of the 1800s, and English in origin. The body with graceful curves throughout, featuring canted corners and a consistent emphasis on the serpentine form. The tambour doors in a conforming case with brass pulls, concealing a two-tiered storage area.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Excellent antique condition, without significant alteration or damage to the mahogany frame. Tambour door without major warping, but has difficulty opening at some points. Cabriole feet intact, one side panel with restored crack.
