Crafted in France, circa 1760, this tall cabinet stands on escargot feet decorated with acanthus leaves at the shoulder, over a scalloped and pierced apron embellished with a weaved floral basket flanked with laurel and wheat leaf motifs. The bonnet top features exquisite carvings including a neoclassical urn surrounded with a laurel crown floral basket at the pediment. Both doors are decorated with hand carved floral and branch motifs, and are decorated.     This antique fruitwood "armoire provencale," is truly exceptional; crafted in France, circa 1760, this tall cabinet features exquisite carvings including the top pediment featuring a pair of doves facing each other, and a nest with three birds surrounded by flowers, fruit, acorns and leaves. The cabinet stands on escargot feet over a scalloped carved apron which is embellished by the traditional pierced Provencal vase with floral and leaf decor. Both doors have hand carved flowers, and are decorated with Louis XVI ribbon bows and laurel leaves, when opened, they reveal all the original shelving, and the incredible original lock, cremaillere and key and heavy forged hardware.
