Graceful Italian Armoire in Cherry and Mahogany

About the Item

Armoire, brass, mirrored glass, glass, mahogany, cherry, Italy, 1950s This charming armoire convinces visually through its graphical door panels composed of carved horizontal lines that specialize the design and highlight the admirable craftsmanship. These wooden segments are placed alternately which is established using two natural wooden materials, mahogany and cherry. The corpus rests on a curved pedestal executed in a graceful manner and further adorned with a characteristic sphere. A lovely surprise is hidden behind the doors showcasing a square shaped mirror that is engraved with figures of classical antiquity. The woman on the right is playing the lyre and her companion is holding a Pegasus in the air. A lovely scene that beautifully highlights the interior. Its appearance is very characteristic for the style of Osvaldo Borsani, who is known for his combination of artistic motifs with modernist principles. Taking every stylistic realization into account, the craftsmanship of the creator is truly evident and hits the border between art and furniture. This armoire bears visual interest and can serve as a monument in your décor. Please note that this item is in good, used condition. The armoire needs to be mounted to a wall to ensure stability. The mahogany type of this piece does not require an export license. For further details, we encourage you to reach out to our team of design specialists.
