A large 18th Century French Louis XV armoire from Burgundy with chapeau de gendarme crown. Made from thick planks of solid walnut with twelve raised panels. Simple hand-carved decorative details on the apron and crown and on the rounded front corners. Mortise & tenon and pegged construction. Waxed patina. Oak as the secondary wood. Iron escutcheons and large forged iron hinges. Working lock and key. Interior has a center shelf with two drawers and two new shelves.
