Art Deco Armoire, Amboina Burl and Black Lacquer, France, circa 1930

About the Item

French Art Deco period Armoire circa 1930s. Curved front doors with wonderful Amboina Burl veneer. Restored with piano lacquer high-gloss finish. Some parts are lacquered in black, the sides are also veneered with amboina burl. Original brass fittings and key. Inside with 4 adjustable black shelf plates with inlay at the front side edges. The armoire can be completely dismantled into 6 pieces for transport. Special: The doors are mounted with a special mechanism of joints being pulled down and pushed up, what is quite rare (see photos). Long rod lock inside closing at the top. Width at the top is 125 cm / 49.2" , at the legs it is 142 cm / 55.9"
