About the Item
This original painted armoire or "Shrunk" has beautiful carving and painted details, including castle, church, and houses upon a hill.
The original painted finish is primarily a teal blue, with burgundy and cream/butter yellow accents. The canted sides, and curved bonnet or crown are also beautifully embellished with decorative painting and carving.
Notice the original hardware including the hinges, lock, knobs, key and keyhole cover.
The interior is painted a complimentary teal blue and burgundy, but appears to be a newer finish. Shelves are removeable. Notice 4 standard shelves, with curves along bottom shelf, and uppermost 5th shelf is small at 1/3 size in depth.
This pine armoire shows expected age related wear as seen in the level of distress to the paint; wear, abrasions, scratches/dings/nicks expected in an item that is almost 200 years old. Please review photos closely for better understanding.
This impressive armoire has been restored and lightly waxed, protecting the lovely original hand-painted flourishes which make it such a special find. It is in solid/stable condition and is ready to be used and enjoyed.
All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation (seen along sides and back) are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this painted shrunk or armoire.
Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition, and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting all impact how item is viewed. Photos are part of item description, please ask questions or request additional photos of specific areas if needed.
