20th Century Chinese Two-Tone Burl Wood, Elmwood Armoire with Doors and Drawers

A large Chinese burl wood and elmwood armoire from early 20th century, China. This large armoire was made with burl wood and elmwood, giving it a two-tone aspect. This impressive piece features two doors in its top part, hinged with round hardware. The hardware lock displays a typically Chinese shape with carved handles. The doors open to reveal an inner shelf with two drawers. Below are two more doors framing three more drawers. Each door and drawer showcase a burl wood panel, contrasting nicely with the natural wood grain of the elmwood used for the frame and trim. This massive 20th century two-tone armoire from China would be make a statement in any home, particularly in a bedroom where it could be used to store bedding but also in other places such as a den or a living room.
