About

This armoire was especially designed for the apartments of Unité d’habitation in Marseille-Michelet and stood in front of the washing station in the children’s rooms. The streamlined shape of the body with the large wooden handles and the asymmetrical parting of the doors gives the cabinet its unusual and interesting look. Each cabinet of the Unité is painted in ochre yellow and stands on a grey base.
See Lit. Arthur Rüegg: Le Corbusier. Möbel und Interieurs 1905 – 1965, Art. 52-01-02.
