This fine antique Victorian sterling silver three-piece tea service consists of a teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl. Each piece of this Victorian silver tea set has an oval rounded form onto four stylized hoof feet. The surface of each piece is plain and unembellished. The elevated shoulders of the teapot, in addition to the cream jug and sugar bowl are encompassed with impressive applied opposing scroll decorated borders paralleling the shaped rims. The teapot is fitted with a plain domed hallmarked hinged cover surmounted with the original oval painted wood and silver topped finial. The teapot retains the original painted wood handle featuring a plain scrolling thumbpiece and sterling silver sockets. The cream jug and sugar bowl are fitted with impressive elevated C-scroll handles with bifurcating opposing scroll lower terminals, in addition to a single leaf design incorporated into each shaped thumbpiece. The teapot is fitted with an impressive plain swan necked spout. The cream jug and sugar bowl retain the original gilt interior. This Victorian silver tea set is fitted to the original Fine and impressive hinged leatherette box with a satin and velvet lined interior and securing with a hinged catch.
