Art Deco Round Goatskin Card and Tea Table, 1940

About

Art Deco gaming table all covered in Goatskin, super polishing for the top. Beautiful center table in characteristic Italian style of that period of Paolo Buffa, Vittorio Dassi and Osvaldo Borsani. The card and tea table is composed of a top covered in Goatskin, an edged all around by a half-round brass rod. The half-round rod is fixed with brass screws sunk into it. The goatskin of the top has a particular design, is divided into a central round part and of segments all around, it is polished in resin. The screws of the rod correspond precisely to each segment cut. The top in the lower part has a rounded frame all around, all polished in black shellac. Below we find a leg formed by four paws all polished in black lacquer. The four paws have a flat design, these are inserted of cutting along the perimeter of the top and have the upper part larger than the lower part. Moreover, these present an obtuse angle in the middle of it. The table is in excellent condition, however it has been well restored both in the wooden part and in the goat skin part. The restoration, like every piece of our shop, has been done respecting the original, maintaining its original state value. For each piece, before the departure, a revision is redone, to make sure it arrives in excellent condition.
