Fine Antique Moorish Ottoman Inlaid Syrian Levantine Table Tabouret Islamic 1880
About the Item
A Fine Antique Ottoman inlaid walnut table/tabouret, circa 1880.
The table is in remarkable condition, the ten sided top is finely inlaid with ebony, bone, Mother-of-Pearl and exotic woods, to the center is a quranic text inlaid in Mother-of Pearl.
The base having ten legs with corresponding panels of chequer board inlay, to the top of each leg is a carved mihrab (inspired by a mosque niche).
Once again this table is in remarkable condition, no condition issues or loss of inlay. Provenance; Property of a prominent California collector.
