Big marble table inlaid top carved wood base handmade in Italy by Cupioli
About the Item
Angelica octagonal table represents one of the Cupioli masterpieces. The imposing dimension of the top cm. 210 x 210 and the wealth of 3 prestigious marbles as pure white, royal yellow and green guatemala are a perfect background for such an important pattern. The edge of the top is obtained assembling two kind of marbles with an important thickness of 6 cm. The peculiarity of this inlay plays on the negative and positive of the figures, in particularity in the allegorical ones in the water.
The design of this 19th century style table focuses on the union of four coat-of-arms, supported by cherubs who in turn hold friezes, volutes and festoons, ending with support from eight sirens.
These last are, in turn, a frame for the marine scenes which are intertwined with medallions representing shells. All the decoration is connected by two major twisted framework , making so an elegant design. The surface of this prestigious top is polished using the special pale for French polish, that gives a warm effect to all scagliola polychrome tonalities.
History:
This magnificent table was specially designed to be placed in the entrance of the famous Grand Hotel in Rimini, where the great director Federico Fellini loved to stay and that he considered his second home. For this reason when, with the commander Arpesella, at the time owner of the Grand Hotel, we spoke of the decoration for this important table, Fellini gave us fundamental suggestions in the composition of the table decoration, which has been on display in the Grand Hotel Hall for about 15 years representing our manufacture of Artistic craftsmanship. Today the 20th of January that In Rimini we all celebrate the centenary of the birth of the genius of Italian cinema, our illustrious fellow countryman Federico Fellini we decided to put this table on sale in his honor to celebrate him.

The Cupioli brothers together with their children Luca and Sonia present the new line of scagliola (moonstone) in the contemporary and modern version. After fifty years of experience in the art of inlay in classical scagliola, we have managed to combine this ancient art with a much more modern line, proposed on tables, consoles, panels, bar cabinet and much more. The scagliola of Cupioli meets and marries contemporary design, proposing works with more abstract features and in line with the taste of our days, the inlays become so more and more rich in nuances and suggestions. The continuous research in the laboratories of the Cupioli family has also made it possible to obtain truly precious and unique textures and finishes with craftsmanship and expertise. An example is the new product called "eco galuchat" made with scagliola, and consists in the reproduction of the race skin to cover furniture and furnishings, in the wake of a French tradition that originated in the early 1900s , in the deco period. With this technique it is possible to obtain the same effect as the most precious hides, thanks to a meticulous study and a refined methodology, in full respect of nature, without use skins of real animals but only natural products, in line with an increasingly widespread sensitivity. Purchasing a Cupioli product means having at home the true Italian craftsmanship that year after year becomes more and more beautiful and lived, acquiring more and more value over time.
