Large Regence Style Mahogany Centre Table with Marble Top French, Late 19th Century Height 82cm, width 176cm, depth 81cm With an exceptionally intricate and ornate carved mahogany structure, this beautiful table, topped with grey and pink marble, was crafted in France in the late nineteenth century in the style of pieces of the French Régence period (1715-1723). Of a large rectangular structure, the table features a highly elaborate, extensively carved decorative scheme in mahogany, with female busts to each corner, and a series of festoons and floral swags that extend along both the four facades and the length of the legs, which are joined by an x-stretcher near the base.
