Art deco vintage tripod coffee table, which was designed by Walter Sobotka, Vienna 1930s.
A stunning and refreshed coffee table or side table from solid walnut in very good and ready to live condition.
This presented coffee table shows a round top with a hand carved profile and three conical legs, while the middle of the base features a wooden ball.
Walter Sobotka (1888 Vienna-1972 New York).
Walter Sobotka belongs to the circle of architects and designer around Josef Frank.
He worked 1932 for the Werkbund housing estate.
In the year 1929 Directorate and from the year 1932-1934 Vice President at the Österreichischem Werkbund.
1937 he emigrated to United States. First he designed furnitures for Thonet in New York, after Walter Sobotka worked at the University Pittsbourg and Carnegie Institute for Technology.
Walter Sobotka was a famed representant as furniture designer in the interwar period in Vienna.
