Brutalist Heinz Lilienthal Attr. Coffee Table or Bench in Wenge & Etched Copper

About the Item

Possibly unique, this coffee table or bench was probably a Heinz Lilienthal work, featuring details consistent with his work. Built to exacting standards, its construction quality is comparable to other Lilienthal works, and its design features match too. This table features a wenge frame with light, dramatic graining, which contrasts perfectly with its extraordinary acid-etched copper tabletop. Feature dense, with crisp details and a warm metallic reddish-brown. Lilienthal was well known for this technique, performing it on aluminum, steel, and aluminum. Years later, this style would be picked up by Berhard Rohne to great success. In very good condition. I purchased this table from an architect in Long Island, NY. He purchased it in Austria and loved it so much, he had it shipped to the USA for his new home. I have chased out any corrosion and treated it so it's ready for another lifetime of use. Its dimensions lend itself to use as a bench as well.
