About the Item
A rare brutalist coffee table by Silas Seandel, signed, circa early 1970s. From his "Woodland Series" of tables and furniture that portrayed natural forms. Featuring intricate torch-cut metal work, this table showcases the artist’s propensity for juxtaposing the tender (in subject - flora) with the hardened (in material - iron). Seandel’s iron flora grow out of a thick base which is rare for his designs. With original round glass top. A sculpture. Note the artist’s signature engraved into the table’s base along the edge.
Minor signs of age but overall fabulous condition. Glass is thick and beveled and original to the piece. The table disassembles into two pieces for easier storage and transport. Pick up in central west Los Angeles or worldwide delivery available
