About the Item

Wonderful oval coffee table in solid patinated oak and ceramic tiles. Made in Denmark in the 1960s and attributed to designer Henry Kjærnulf. The table is solid and sturdy and mixes modern virtues with hints to baroque style, which is typical for Kjærnulf as seen in his iconic "Razorblade" chairs. Danish mid-century designer and architect, Henry Kjærnulf is somewhat of a mystery. A lot more is known about his designs than Kjærnulf himself. His wooden designs, crafted to perfection, speak for themselves. In recent years his modern baroque inspired furniture has become increasingly popular in contemporary interiors. Notice: the table top is not fixed to the base (due to the tiles it is quite heavy and rests steadily on the base) and the legs can easily be separated from the base allowing flat packing for economical shipping.

Condition:

Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Good original condition with very few signs of wear. Table top have at some time been fixed to the base with screws on the inside of the frame. These have been removed and the holes have been filled. Only visible when the table top is removed.
