About the Item
Handsome and substantial large end table designed by Illum Wikkelso and manufactured in Denmark by Neils Eilersen. This very well made table has solid teak legs and a top with beautiful wood grain. Labeled underneath.
It could also be used as a small coffee table.

Kristian Illum Wikkelsø (July 15, 1919 , February 14, 1999 ) was a Danish furniture designer . He belongs to the generation of Danish designers who made Danish furniture design known around the world from the 1950s to 1960s.
Illum Wikkelsø received his training as a carpenter in 1938 and studied at the School of Arts and Crafts (now the Danish Design School ) in Copenhagen in 1941. First he worked for the Danish cabinet maker Jacob Kjær and the architects Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard, until he opened his own workshop in 1954 in the Aarhus area.
Here he mainly designed simple and elegant seating furniture with great functionality, which are now considered classics of Danish furniture design. The style of his work ranges from Classicism Kaare Klint's up to the Space Age Expressionism by Arne Jacobsen. [His most famous designs include his rocking chair and armchair model V11 . The manufacture of his designs was implemented by furniture manufacturers such as CF Christensen, N. Eilersen, Holger Christiansen, Komfort / Dansk Form, Søren Willadsen Møbelfabrik and Hjørring Møbelfabrik. [5]
Wikkelsø died in 1999 and was buried in Aarhus.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Very good vintage condition. Some very faint scratches to top ( picture #12), some minor marks to sides (pictures #10, 11).
