The Megalith coffee table is a striking new addition to the Megalith collection; a dazzling piece of modern furniture from Christopher Duffy, and luxurious addition to the living space.
A glass tabletop balances across a series of six toppling monolithic structures. Appearing frozen, as if in a permanent state of impending collapse.
An illusionary high-concept piece that achieves its effect using precision design and careful distributions of weight. Skilled artisans make every edition by hand with eight unique finishing options available.
Adding style and artistic edge to the home, Megalith Coffee is available to purchase in a variety of luxurious premium finishing options. These include Mirror-polished gold and white veined ‘Marquina’ black marble.
The monolithic design for the Megalith collection takes inspiration from the Arthur C. Clarke book ‘The Sentinel’ and cult classic film 2001: A Space Odyssey from director Stanley Kubrick.
Megalith Coffee Table is brought to life in an array of luxurious, modern finishes. An eye-catching, illusionary design that makes for a dramatic centrepiece to the living space.

Duffy London Ltd
Ideas-based modern furniture and collectible design from Christopher Duffy and British design studio Duffy London. Combining art and function, and playing with the concepts of gravity, geography, and optical illusion. We work with a talented team of designers, artisans, and manufacturers to turn these concepts into high-quality pieces of statement furniture and sculpture. Works are divided into six main collections - Abyss, Solo, Megalith, Up! Balloon, Swing, and Meeting Pod. Chris and the studio are constantly innovating and releasing new modern furniture designs Works have featured at Art Basel, Art Miami and 100% Design London. In 2016 Duffy London was a partner for the PAD London 20th Century Design & Decorative Arts Fair. In 2019, a limited edition of the Abyss Coffee Table was acquired by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs at The Louvre in Paris to become part of the permanent National collection. Everything we do is handmade to order and bespoke by skilled craftspeople here in the UK. We only use wood from sustainably managed forests and other eco-friendly building materials and mediums. Chris founded Duffy London in 2002.
Customers can choose from mirror polished stainless steel in several custom finishes including rose-gold, gold, blue gloss and red gloss.

Is it still a coffee table without a top? Does it need to have legs? Can frame and surface dissolve into one structure? For this coffee table, designer Reinier de Jong touched on several sources of inspiration from brutalist architecture to minimalist art. In his work he has always displayed a fascination for geometric patterns and repetitive volumes, as well as the space between them. When configured thoughtfully, the object transcends the simple sum of its parts. The exterior of the aluminum parts is hand polished to a mirror shine to expose the inherent qualities of the material. Contrastingly, the interior is kept as is: brut and matte showing the extrusion lines of the manufacturing process. The parts are configurated in an alternating bond, stepping up on one side and cantilevering on the other. Thus, a intriguing sculpture-like coffee table is made with four different surface heights and several pockets to store items like coasters, remote controls, smartphones and magazines. TERMS coffee table comes in a limited edition of 50 pcs, each with discretely engraved numbering ('01/50', '02/50', '03/50' etc) and a Stilst logo on a non-conspicuous position.
