Italian Mid-Century Coffeetable Brass Plated Iron Base and Glass Top, 1950s
About the Item
Light-footed, Italian side table Gueridonin brass plated iron.
The base was forged from iron and then brass plated.
In the lower part of the rings, the brass layer is already slightly worn and there is an interesting anthracite-gold patina. The table stands on 4 legs, - the feet have slightly overdrawn foot caps.
In the swing of the legs are worked 4 rings that emphasize the playful design and combine the look with the round top.
The glass top has a 2mm bevel on the edge (undamaged) and is attached to the base by 4 screws.
There are 4 ribbed, tapered studs underneath.
The screws on the table top are also slightly raised and have a very fine bead decoration on the edge.
So the table is very well thought out in terms of lines and fine in its craftsmanship.
A beautiful and original mid-century furniture.
