Modern Abyss 'Kraken' Coffee Table in Birch Wood and Glass
About the Item
Abyss Kraken is a dramatic new statement coffee table by Christopher Duffy, played out over two pieces.
Abyss Kraken continues Duffy’s explorations of the concept of depth with a mesmerising depiction of the Earth’s seabed, played out in a dramatic array of vivid turquoise colours. Each table has an individual pattern, which when placed together, flows from one table across to the other.
The Abyss Kraken can be commissioned as a bespoke piece with designs chosen by the client.
Each piece is hand-made to order at the Duffy London workshop using high-grade wood from Forestry Stewardship Council-managed forests and other eco-friendly materials. The Abyss Kraken requires 14 weeks of manufacture time ahead of shipping.
The Kraken table is part of the Abyss collection from Duffy London. In 2019 a piece was acquired by the Musee des Arts Decoratifs at the Louvre to go on display as part of the National French collection.

Duffy London Ltd

We work with a talented team of designers, artisans, and manufacturers to turn these concepts into high-quality pieces of statement furniture and sculpture. Works are divided into six main collections - Abyss, Solo, Megalith, Up! Balloon, Swing, and Meeting Pod. Chris and the studio are constantly innovating and releasing new modern furniture designs Works have featured at Art Basel, Art Miami and 100% Design London. In 2016 Duffy London was a partner for the PAD London 20th Century Design & Decorative Arts Fair. In 2019, a limited edition of the Abyss Coffee Table was acquired by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs at The Louvre in Paris to become part of the permanent National collection. Everything we do is handmade to order and bespoke by skilled craftspeople here in the UK. We only use wood from sustainably managed forests and other eco-friendly building materials and mediums. Chris founded Duffy London in 2002.
