Modern Live Edge Walnut Slab Coffee Table with Butterflies
About the Item
This is a coffee table I made from a 1.5" thick slab of black walnut, with some beautiful figure in the grain. I inlaid maple butterfly keys on both ends, both to stabilize wood movement and with an eye to the aesthetics. The base features gently curving legs connected to the stretchers and top with mortise and tenon joints; it is built to last. It has been finished with multiple coats of hand rubbed oil and wax, accenting the swirls and color of this piece of walnut.
Please note that each table is made to order, and this is but one example of a live edge coffee table. Each table will have slight variations of form and figure, but I will do my best to select slabs that have similar for features and dimensions to those depicted here. I am also happy to discuss slab options and various dimensions, so feel free to contact me with any questions.

This is a custom slab table, and as such dimensions are woods are open to customization from the client.
Possible woods include but are not limited to: claro walnut, bleached maple, and bay laurel. If you've got an idea for something else, let me know and I'd love to talk it over.
