Richard Schultz for Knoll 'Petal' Coffee Table in Redwood & Enameled Steel 1960s

About the Item

Designed in 1960 by Richard Schultz, this coffee table was made by Knoll. This example dates to the 1960s, and features redwood petals and an enameled steel base. With a base reminiscent of branches and petals on top, it really falls more into the organic modern category, with a flowy and smooth look. The edges feature the classic Knoll knife edge, and the base has the typical Knoll overbuilt characteristics, making this table ready for another 60 years of use. In very good condition. The top is freshly refinished, which involves a chemical stripping and hand sanding, then pre-stain, stain, and a tinted clear protective coat. The base has been cleaned up to preserve the original patina, but can be freshly stripped and re-enameled upon request. We can also do a variety of colors. Some factory and age-related blemishes remain.
