  • Hollywood Regency Lucite, Brass and Glass Italian Square Cocktail Table, 1970s
    By Charles Hollis Jones
    Located in Roma, IT
Wonderful mid-century Hollywood Regency coffee or cocktail table with two glass shelves. This amazing table is in the style of Charles Hollis Jones and was produced in Italy during the 1970s. This piece is fabulous because of its Hollywood regency straight lines and the harmony between transparent materials, crystal glass and plexiglass. Additional, the glasses are removable and the frame is in lucite with radiant polished brass corners. A stunning table that will become the focal point of a mid-century living room or bar. Dimensions (in): depth - 33.46 width - 33.46 height - 19,68 Charles Hollis Jones was born in Bloomington, Indiana in 1945. Jones moved to Los Angeles, California at the age of 16, founding CHJ Designs. At the time, acrylic and plastic were not commonly used as a material for upscale furniture and art, but Jones began creating pieces for showrooms, such as Hudson-Rissman. His work was well-received. Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball and Johnny Carson were among some of the first to commission Jones to design pieces for their homes. An ageing Tennessee Williams commissioned Jones to design a writing chair: The result was the Wisteria chair...
