About the Item

Inspired by the Sacred Ceiba trees in Havana, Joao Faria created the stunning Roots Coffee Table for contemporary homes. It is handcrafted using carefully selected wood veneers, and many consider it a work of art. The Roots Collection also includes console tables, mirrors, desks, and screens. Each piece is handmade to order; we can manufacture it in endless combinations. This piece is entirely made in Portugal and artisanally by the author. Its manufacturing process is time-consuming because, among other complex operations, every wood insert is drawn, cut and fitted on the structure without the use of machinery. After the final wood shapes are ready, the tabletop is assembled and crafted using carefully selected wood veneers with natural patterns or a lacquered finish. The author carefully hand-selects the wood veneer leaves from a single tree for their precise grain and colouration. After that, he bookmatches them to achieve the best result in the piece. The final finish on the wood is a varnish to enhance the wood's natural beauty. The Coffee Table Roots is finished with meticulous attention to detail, resulting in exceptional craftsmanship due to long hours of delicate construction. This listing is for a center coffee table mastercrafted from carefully selected walnut wood veneers and white lacquered wood. However, we can manufacture it in customised options: Tabletop: It can be in different lacquer colours or wood veneers, such as ironwood, black oak, tineo, and ebony macassar. The wood finish can be matt, satin or high-gloss. Due to the complex tabletop design, custom dimensions are only available after a detailed analysis. This piece is assembled and delivered in a wooden box wrapped in bubble wrap. You can try it in your space using Augmented Reality with your mobile phone (Roots Collection, available on our website).
