About the Item
This table from the «xxx» collection was designed by Johanna Grawunder in 2009 and edited by Glas Italia. It is made from transparent pink, orange and yellow glass with a 6 + 6 mm stratified glass top in pink.
Measurements: Diameter 80 x H 30 cm
Please Note:
The table is is very good condition but has a slight vertical cut in one of the yellow base plates near the intersection with the other plates. It is barely visible and hence even difficult to photograph (we tried. The crack has no structural impact. This is reflected in the price.
About Johanna Grawunder and Glas Italia:
Designer and artist Johanna Grawunder has a wide range of projects, ranging from color installations and large street lighting projects to architectural interventions, interior designs and limited edition furniture. She divides her time between Milan, Italy, and San Francisco.
With a background in architecture, she is drawn to the world of lighting since the beginning of her career. She integrates architectural principles and scale with unconventional building materials and advanced lighting technology in her designs, which is most evident in this table.
Grawunder has left a significant mark on the world of contemporary art and design with her innovative lighting designs and interdisciplinary approach. Her work is in collections at various museums, including the High Museum of Atlanta, LACMA, CNAP, SFMOMA, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Denver Art Museum, and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
Her versatility has allowed her to collaborate with prominent architects and designers, creating custom lighting installations for her projects. In addition, she has designed products for renowned companies such as Flos, Boffi and Glas Italia.
Glas Italia has its roots in the artisan tradition of the master glassmakers of Brianza and projects this profession towards the future. It is for this know-how that very important designers from all over the world have chosen Glas Italia for their most courageous projects that have crystal as the protagonist.
