About the Item
A rare early Warren McArthur 6' conference table from the original Chrysler Desoto corporate showroom in Detroit. (see image 2 showing this table in a McArthur photo of part of the Warren McArthur refurnishing at Chrysler)
This early aluminum and Bakelite table was commissioned as part of the refurnishing and modernization of the main Chrysler/ DeSoto showroom in Detroit. This was in conjunction with Chrysler's introduction in 1934 of the Airflow, the first American aero-dynamically designed car.
McArthur Brothers had the Dodge franchise for the South Western US and Northern Mexico based out of their Phoenix showroom from 1910 through the 1920s. The Jordan, the Jeffries and the Packard Automobile Companies were also represented by the McArthur Brothers Phoenix showroom during this period.
The table is in good condition with heavy wear to the top and edge trim.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor structural damages. Minor fading. Bakelite top heavily worn. Trim has been professionally restored but shows loss of color The bases are worn on the upper surfaces of the tube consistent with years of commercial use.
