About the Item

This 19th Century antique Tuscan refectory table has sold, however we feature the original antique photographed in this listing as our reproduction prototype for our authentic Italian antique reproduction program. Available in Natural Blonde Italian walnut as shown with a clear coat preservative finish. Also available in our Renaissance Classic & Espresso Dark shellac or Natural light shellac finish colors as featured on our numerous table listings. The original antique table top photographed was hand-hewn in the mid-1800s from a single, solid slab of ancient Italian walnut, with solid carved lyre shaped legs and hand-forged iron elements. Effectively primitive in style. A fine example of Italian tradition of hand-craft and design, stripped of old shellac finish and restored to the original natural blonde color of Italian walnut, with clear coat finish for preservation. Introduced in our Primo Collection of Tuscan & Renaissance Antiques featuring restored ancient Italian walnut. A new softer look of casual sophistication for Italian antiques. Today, our craftsmen in Italy build our reproduction tables in the same style to custom order, with multiple slab or single slab tops, depending on your top size requirement.
