19th Century Late Qing Dynasty Altar Table with Mother-of-Pearl Inlay
About the Item
This is a gorgeous late Qing Dynasty Chinese altar table. Scroll ends carved with dragons and beautiful mother-of-pearl inlay on all sides, including top, back, legs and even inner rails. The top inlaid with a border of scrolling flowers and vines and the front and back aprons with Chinoiserie garden scenes.
The Qing Dynasty was the last imperial dynasty of China, and covers a period from 1636 to 1912. This table dates from the 19th century.
A truly delightful piece in excellent condition with very few, small losses to inlay, commensurate with age. Small, stable, old gap between two boards in the central panel of the tabletop.
