An 18th Century Walnut Wood Trestle Table with Arched Iron Stretcher from Italy
About the Item
A late 18th century Italian trestle table with iron stretcher. This antique table from Italy features a rectangular-shaped top from a single piece of walnut wood, which is raised upon a pair of fluidly-carved trestle styled legs at either end. The curvy trestles are braced by a beautifully curved centre stretcher, whose shape is reminiscent of an ogee arch, and is adorn with several disc shaped decorative pieces. The walnut wood has a warm, rich coloring and fabulous old patina showing it's history and use. This late 18th century Italian table is a great medium size piece, offering numerous options for use, perhaps as an occasional table or desk within a study.
