Karl Springer Style Large Lucite Brass and Glass Console / Sofa Table, 1980s
About the Item
Refurbished vintage Mid-Century Modern Karl Springer style huge five foot long (150cm) and tall console, sofa, foyer or entrance table made of Lucite / acrylic with glass tabletop with brass trim and angled corners, circa 1980s. The heavy and thick curved and rounded Lucite legs with polished brass corner caps and frame hold the glass and tabletop. Perfect for the Hollywood Regency and Mid-Century styles.
We purchased this table, along with a pair of Karl Springer gold-plated candle stands and wall mirror (available in our 1stdibs storefront). The gentleman also had a large cream goat leather coffee table, also by Karl Springer, but the condition was, unfortunately, needing a great level of restoration work and, for that reason, we were unable to purchase that as well.
Condition is good - the brass corner caps have been repolished.
There are some scratches to one of the legs (see photo 17).
A slight repair to one corner of the glass tabletop - the corner has been minimally filed/polished - could have come out of the studio this way or may be a later 'repair'.
